Scottdale Fashion Square is celebrating Earth Day by continuing its tradition of giving back to the community and partnering with the Scottsdale Police Department for Earth Day clean-up. The shopping center and Scottsdale Police are inviting the community to roll up their sleeves and help pick up trash and debris around the center and surrounding area on Wednesday, April 24 from 7 to 9 a.m.

Participants should meet at Capital One Café where the café will be providing coffee and pastries to volunteers. Garbage bags and trash pickers will be handed out to volunteers when they arrive. In addition to the clean-up event, Scottsdale Fashion Square is asking shoppers to pledge to always use a reusable shopping bag. Macerich Shopping Centers have partnered with One Tree Planted this April to fund reforestation and urban shade projects across the United States for every pledge made.

One Tree Planted is a nonprofit organization that is devoted to planting trees in both open spaces and urban areas. They also conduct educational outreach to teach communities about the importance of trees and motivate the next generation to do something positive for the environment.
