It’s hard to believe that it’s been nearly 25 years since beloved TV series “The Nanny” went off the air. Actress Fran Drescher portrayed title character Fran Fine who loses her job as a cosmetics salesgirl to wind up as the nanny to three children of a wealthy widower. As Fine, Drescher stood her ground, showed compassion and used her street smarts to always do the right thing for the kids in her care. In a real-life case of truth being stranger than fiction, Drescher now leads 160,000 performers in the Screen Actors Guild as its union president.
