In 2002, the world was smitten with the film “My Big Fat Greek Wedding.” Perhaps no other film in history showcased such a fun and intimate look at the workings of a Greek family and the strong ties that hold it together. In 2016, a sequel to the film built on the relationship of main characters Toula Portakalos (Nia Vardalos) and Ian Miller (John Corbett) as their family grew.

“My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3” is hitting theaters on September 8. In the seven years since we last saw Toula and Ian, the family has grown even more. It is decided that it’s time to get the whole gang back together in their native land of Greece. Against the backdrop of a beautiful location with a big family reunion, it’s the kind of film that beckons attention. Although all three films were written by the multi-talented Nia Vardalos, this time around, she also directed.
